Top: 50 cents Yard Sale
Fabric Scraps: leftover from a project
What you need:
4-quart square or round container - something that will fit a 1/2 paper towel roll standing up, I found a container for 25c at a thrift store, also you can use plastic coffee cans or large margarine tubs
½ roll Bounty or Viva paper towels, choose a "giant" or "super" size roll, make sure the paper is really soft
2 ½ cups hot water
2 T baby bath
2 T baby oil or Jojoba oil, Calendula oil, olive oil or Burt's Bees apricot oil
Optional: 3-5 drops Essential Lavender oil
Instructions:
- Cut paper towel roll in half (hubby does it for me) and remove cardboard tube
- Put in your container standing up
-In a small bowl mix together water, baby bath and oil
-Pour over the paper towel roll
-Let sit for about 10 minutes
- Done!
- Now you can start pulling the towels from the middle :)
COST:
Container: 25cents Thrift Store
Paper towel: Free with coupon
Baby Bath: the entire bottle was 50 cents after coupon
Baby Oil: Free with coupon
Cut felt sheets into 1 inch (roughly) strips
Tie the strips in the middle, don't pull too tight
Choose a thicker thread
(I used button thread) and start stringing the ties
Tie string into a loop at each end and display!
I had intended this as a swag for the fire place, but that was too tempting for a little 14 mos old :)

I am determined to lower my fabric stash, especially my
fabric scraps stash (try that 3 times fast).
My first scrap pillows of the year.
My 1st finished project of 2011! New curtains for the front and back door from fabric scraps.
Made from 2 thrift store tablecloths ($1 for both)
Here is a great way to dress up plain boots. My daughter is not too fond of her plain and boring ( yet waterproof and warm...) boots. So we gave them a makeover using the sleeves from an old sweater.
Just cut off the sleeves, trim to fit boots and hem.
I will go to the base thrift store on Thursday to find some pink, bright colored sweaters.
Now she can change the look of the boots.
Many Blessings,
Melanie
